Frequently Asked Questions
After School
Are programs co-ed?
Yes!
What grades are the programs open to?
Programs are open to the grade levels listed on the individual program’s page.
Are practices split by grade?
We group players by skill level rather than strict grade to ensure a fun, appropriately challenging environment for everyone. Portions of each practice are run in smaller, skill-based groups, and players may rotate to help keep things competitively balanced.
While warm-ups and core skill work are often done together as a full group, coaches adjust groups within those activities as needed to keep things engaging. Our goal is for every child to learn, grow, and have fun playing at the right level.
What equipment does my child need for practice?
Your child should come dressed in proper athletic wear for indoor/outdoor sports and sneakers — no cleats, please.
Basketball programs are held indoors in the gym, while soccer programs may run indoors during winter and outdoors in the fall/spring, depending on the season and location.
Please send a water bottle—indoor basketball locations usually have fountains, but outdoor soccer fields often do not.
You’re also welcome to pack a snack if your child needs one.
All balls and training equipment are provided.
How does my child get to practice after-school?
We provide the school with a roster of all registered participants. School staff work with teachers and our coaches to help students get to the correct location—usually the gym.
That said, please send a note with your child on practice days to remind their teacher that they will be attending. This helps ensure a smooth transition.
When does registration end?
Registration is rolling and remains open until a program is full.
To ensure your child is included on the school’s roster for and directed to the correct location after school, students must be registered at least 48 hours before the next practice.
If registration occurs closer than 48 hours, your child may begin the following week instead.
Where should my child meet the coaches before practice?
Typically we meet students either at the gym or by the main office. However, this varies by school so you’ll receive a specific location by email as we approach the first practice.
Is there an After-School Bus for my child to take home after practice?
We do not provide an after-school bus although occasionally the school may offer one. Please check with your school office!
What is your weather policy?
What is your cancellation policy?
If a program does not reach a minimum of 8 registered players, it may be canceled.
In that case, families will receive a full refund or the option to apply credit to a future or alternative program.
What if I'm late to pick my child up after practice?
We allow a 10-minute grace period after practice ends. After that, late-pick-up fees apply to help cover coaching time:
-
11–25 minutes late: $20
-
26–40 minutes late: $35
-
41–60 minutes late: $60
-
60+ minutes late: $80
You will receive an invoice, which must be paid before the next practice for your child to continue participating.
When registering, please ensure that at least one phone number provided is a cell phone you can answer during and after practice hours.
What is your refund policy?
We understand life happens. If for any reason your child can’t finish (or start) a season, you have until the fourth week of practice to withdraw and you will receive a full prorated refund minus a $20 processing fee.
Where does my child go after practice?
What is your parent participation policy?
For indoor practices, parents are not able to stay and watch due to space and school policies.
For outdoor practices, parents are welcome to observe but should give players and coaches plenty of space by watching from a distance.
Coaches are happy to speak with parents after all players have been safely dismissed.
